So I have finally got my act together, and this year, I am actually participating in SALA, the South Australian Living Artist Festival! In fact, I have somehow ended up in three group exhibitions! Below are a few images from the Opening Nights! (Sorry for the low quality, it seems all galleries are dark, and my f/1.8 lens broke recently! :(
Anyhow, most of these exhibitions are still running for another few weeks, so go check them out!
———————————————————————–
PASS IT ON – Hotel Wright Street – August 5th – September 8th
A playful and thought-provoking art experiment
based on the childhood game of Chinese whispers,
featuring 8 talented, local artists working in a variety of mediums.
———————————————————————–
MIGRATE – Adelaide Town Hall – August 2nd – 26th
An exploration of nostalgic belonging and home,
loss and dislocation, seasons and change
in a dynamic assertion of painting, photography, textile and found materials.
I don’t have any pictures from this opening, as a fire alarm interrupted us, just before I was going to leave, and I never actually took any! Obviously, there was no fire, although we all stood outside speculating on what might have become of the artwork if there was! Somehow, despite the interruption, I managed to sell everything! Yay!

Sound, Echo, Repeat – Red Poles Gallery – August 3rd – September 8th
Artists create with recurring processes
that speak in echoes and strike chords within.
Be enticed by painting, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, installation and more.
A very hectic but enjoyable few weeks, now its back to digital work again, a few exciting film-related things coming up…stay tuned!
